1. How long does it take to see real improvement?

There is no average program length. Core factors that influence the student are deduced in the initial session. The 4 factors influencing potentiality:

  • Frequency and duration of sessions
  • Motivation of student
  • Proficiency of English
  • Ear Training; listening and repeating skills

2. How much does it cost?

Rates are based on a customized program proposal. This means it is based on number, frequency, and duration of online or in person sessions. The way classes are administered, depends on your location and length of study time; One of ARTA’s certified professionals will recommend a curriculum vitae during your initial session once your level of potentiality is measured.

5. Will I lose my personality if I change my accent?

No. We celebrate the diversity of all cultural backgrounds. We don’t impose or for ce anyone to change or deny their unique personality. We strive to enhance traits of the students character, while providing tools to improve short comings. Our goal is to teach you to speak dynamically and communicate your ideas effectively, with little or no accent. We feel this method helps the listener focus on what your saying, not how you say it.

6. Does it matter which language I speak now?

No. Some people improve faster if their native accent is similar to English, but, everyone is capable of learning to change their accent using the ARTA method of Accent Reduction. More sessions may be required for those students who begin the program below the average range of English proficiency.

7. What is the ARTA Accent Reduction Training Method and how does it work?

We believe that all accents should first be broken down phonologically using a subset of the International Phonetic Alphabet. (IPA) Our method is a variation on this widely practiced and acceptable method with our own nuances of sound modalities. While we respect the fundamental principles of IPA, we do believe, however, that language changes over time and the ARTA Method reflects these changes which we feel are more consistent with speech commonly heard in everyday life among native born Americans in the U.S.A.

8. Am I too old to change my accent?

You are never too late to learn something new. Generally, the learning curve is higher among students who have been speaking English before age 12. Other variables, such as motivation and structure of previous language training can also be a factor. Our goal is to provide practical techniques that are easy to implement and master. We have found only in extreme cases of higher age groups whom have participated, that muscular attrition and hearing had a more challenging effect on long term progress. In these isolated instances, classes were administered with greater frequency, which had a positive effect on the students retention and muscular coordination.
